Why are our listings behind a paywall?

A Case Study:

A kind-hearted land owner decided that to help out a family during the housing crisis, they would rent a corner of their land to someone in a caravan, for quite cheaply.

They advertised this in a Facebook group, and quickly found a tenant, who moved in shortly after.

The land owner did not live on the property, even though there was an existing house sitting vacant.

Quite some time after the tenant moved in, a visit by the owner established that the caravan tenant had actually moved into the main house without permission, and started a meth lab!!

Obviously this would be a HORRIFYING experience, and require a LOT of time, energy and expense to rectify.

Yet a couple of years down the track after cleaning up the property, this same property owner posted in a Facebook group wanting to try again with a different tenant.

However after multiple others in that Facebook group recommended using ParkMyTinyHouse to avoid a repeat of their past experience, the land owner quite vocally refused “because we charge for our service and they’re not all about the money”.

Ma’am…..!!

Our tenants are screened, reference-checked, ID-verified, and police-checked. If there are any red flags in their history it’s highly likely we’ll know- and they will be removed from our platform before you, as a land owner, ever have any contact with them.

It’s only once a tenant has passed ALL those checks that we put you as the host in touch with them, and it’s at your discretion and judgement whether you are comfortable enough after a phone call to then share your property address with the tenant.  

Since implementing this screening process, we’ve not had a single reported issue with any tenant.

Our checks and balances are there for a very bloody good reason- to protect YOU and your hard-earned property!!

While some people may not agree with the way we operate, this was a very intentional choice on our part- and hopefully now you can understand why.
